Whatever type of hunting you do, safety is first. Often you will observe that hunters usually wear an orange vest. This is because they will be visible to other hunters.
Younger hunters may start out by learning how to hunt for ducks. Picking the right location is key. You may want to set up near nesting sites or feeding areas. Your weapon would be a rifle. In addition, you may want to get a hunting dog so that it can retrieve your kill. Decoys are used as a diversion. The more realistic they are, the better. When there is no wind the decoys are placed to form a V shape. In windier conditions, a X shape can be formed. More grouping of decoys work best.
The moose is the largest of the deer family. They are about the size of a horse. They are able to run as fast as 35 mph and can swim and climb steep hills easily. Their most acute sense is hearing.
When you are hunting moose you want your rifle to have a telescopic sight and the correct caliber so that you can have a clean kill. There are two techniques used for moose hunting. They are still hunting and stand hunting. In still hunting, the best time to hunt is after a heavy rain. You keep the wind in your favor and you walk slowly and quietly. In stand hunting, you position yourself in an area where you won't be detected. Cow calling or a mating call is the primary sound the hunters use to attract a prospective bull.
You should practice using your weapon in order to become completely comfortable with it. Control the direction of the muzzle at all times. Keep your safety on until you are ready to fire. Keep your finger out of the trigger guard.
