Hunting Seasons

To participate in the pursuit of live animals, is to hunt. There are many different reasons to hunt. Some of these include population control, fur or even for the delicious recipes that can be created using the animals you hunt.

Depending on the game you pursue for hunting, it is imperative you search the law within the state you hunt. Centuries ago, man sought this sport and nearly hunted buffalo to extinction and annihilated flocks of waterfowl. Because this sport has grabbed hold of so many men and women alike, it is necessary to have a limited amount of days and quantity for each type of animal hunted. Some variances are allowed within a particular breed. The types of weaponry used in the hunt are subjected to these variances and limits as well.

The type of animals you can hunt change with the seasons. Spring brings forth turkey hunts as well as coyote in some states. Summer, on the other hand, allows for the hunting of crow and wild hogs, too. Fall and winter is the preferred season for hunting. Many different animals are legal to hunt and are easier to view when snow is present. The hunter is much less visible during these months and can easily be camouflaged with leaves, twigs and forest debris.

As we prepare for the adjustment of climate with the changing of seasons, so does the hunter and his wardrobe. Seasonal clothing for the vigorous hunter is mainly about color. It reflects the time of year and the type of game sought after.
