Parks For Hunting

Wildlife Management Associations was designed to help everyone from hunters to environmentalist care for many wildlife populations and their habitats in every region of the United States. The Wildlife Management Associations perform vital research on the wildlife populations and the habitat itself. The associations provide educational information and lessons that are taught across the nation about how to manage wildlife health, food and overall numbers of the individual species.

Some states that have full Wildlife Management Associations are Texas, Alaska and Montana. Texas has the largest deer hunting parks and some antelope parks as well. Montana carries the widest range of animals that include elk, deer, moose, big horn sheep and bison. They also have special safety classes for hunters for bear and mountain lion hunting. Alaska’s hunting parks are famous for moose, bison and bear. The states are divided by region and class that each requires a gun or archery class. Many hunting parks have driving tours and hold special events for hunters who book well in advance.

One area that the association has been most beneficial has been in habitats that border suburban areas. When certain wildlife populations such as bears or mountain lions grow past their normal habitat and start intruding within populated suburban areas professionals are sent in to ward off the predators. If it doesn’t work or the animals have proven to be aggressive they are removed from the area or possibly put down for everyone’s safety. Most hunting parks require hunters to provide and record information on all kills.
