Hunting

Hunting is classified as tracking animals that are living, whether for fun or for sustenance. Many people in today's society hunt for fun, but earlier in time, hunting was a necessity. With no food to eat, a successful hunt was the difference between life or death. Hunting was a trade that men needed to acquire to survive. Hunting in this era was not only for eating purposes, but it also determined the male's position in society. If the man hunted a large animal that others may have feared throughout the community, he was known as a hero. This period of time is widely known as the first era of hunting.

The next stage of hunting was the second era. Although men were only allowed to hunt in the first era, within the second era, anyone who could hunt was allowed. However, women hunters would be mocked by the community for doing a man's job. During this era is when hunting went from a means of living to a fun sport. These individuals hunted to make a profit by selling whatever they caught.

In the third era, hunting was classified as a sport, however, some restrictions did apply. In many places during this era, hunting was restricted all together. In the fourth era, animals where not hunted as much. In this era, animals were typically raised on a farm.

Present day hunting is typically done with guns. Now it is technically considered a hobby and you need to be licensed to hunt or carry a weapon. Although the evolution has changed, we must never forget that are ancestors invented this trade.
