Hunting The Midwest

The Midwest United States has some the most outstanding hunting areas, with excellent populations of deer, turkey, quail and dove. The McCulloch and the Tom Green counties of Texas are known to have a great population of deer for hunting. They are public lands that are accessible to hunters and there are also private ranch style hunting grounds that are also available to hunters there. The ranch style hunting grounds can be accessed by paying a fee. This fee usually depends on factors like the number of days that you will be hunting. The Edwards Plateau in the Texas Midwest is known to be a good place to hunt turkey. Dove and quail can be found in these same areas.

Another great hunting area in the Midwest region is the Desoto National Wildlife Refuge System in Nebraska. This is an area that maintains a large population of deer. The Desoto National Wildlife Refuge System offers various deer hunting seasons for muzzle loader rifles and for the bow and arrow. They also provide a special turkey hunting season for young hunters and a season for disabled hunters. The bow and arrow is also allowed for the turkey hunt.

Other hunting areas in the Midwest United States are Custer Park, Byron, Pike County and the Double Cluck Farms and Hunt Club in Illinois. Hunting is also popular at the Black River Falls in Wisconsin and Near Faith in South Dakota. North Dakota has some the country's best pheasant hunting along the Cannon Ball River, Coal Bank Creek, No Name Creek and the Dead Horse Creek. Most of the locations mentioned can be hunted on in the company of expert guides, who are ready to assist with hunting answers and tips.
