A good hunter is one who goes into the woods and tracks their game. Deer, bear and turkey are some of the most popular game to hunt. Nowadays people bait the animal they are hunting to bring them in. Hunting is a sport that also tries to thin out overpopulated areas, and provides food for families. You could make a lot of different meals off of just one deer.
Hunting helps control diseases in areas where the animals have crowded wasting disease or other diseases. The age old tradition of hunting dates back to B.C. years, when man hunted to survive and feed their families. These days some people hunt for the sport, instead of food. Hunting for the sport means people are looking for the largest antlers or size of the animal. Usually they will mount the antler, entire head, or body. Hunting for food is still very much prevalent. Though more and more in present day, with the way the economy is, some hunters are out to get food for their families. Some people hunt for deer and other animals for families who are less fortunate. They donate the meat to food pantries, this way they are still enjoying the hunt while providing for others.
Hunting can be a very enjoyable sport to do. As long as you obey the laws and regulations set up for your safety as well as others. Each state has their rules and regulations, so make sure you check with your local DNR warden before starting your hunt.
