Hunting Season dates vary from state to state and depend on the type of game you wish to hunt. The most popular game is Deer. Other types of game include Bear, Cougar, Elk, Moose, Rabbit, and many types of Foul including Turkey, Dove, Grouse and Quail.
Deer Season in the state of Idaho starts on September 15th and runs until December 1st. You can hunt Black Bear in Idaho from April 15th to May 15th. In Washington State you can hunt for high buck from September 15th through September 25th and late buck from November 13th until November 16th. Elk are available for harvesting from October 25th until November 2nd in Eastern Washington State and from November 1st through November 10th in Western Washington State. In Oregon you can hunt Cougar from January 1st until May 31st and from August 1st through December 31st.
As you can see, these hunting dates vary, but are basically between September and December with some variations based on early hunts for some game. The best thing to do is to check with your local Department of Wildlife for the dates on specific hunting for the game you wish to harvest. Also, remember to check to see if there are special hunt dates. Some states have these if there are over populated areas of a particular species. Remember to purchase the proper tags for the dates you are going to hunt since some states have separate tags for different parts of the season. Good hunting and remember to be safe.
