For some, the sport of hunting is for recreation, while for others, it is used to rid an area of pesky vermin. Some hunters like to have an easy hunt and do both of these things at the same time. Vermin that are hunted are usually the rabbit or the squirrel, which are both easy animals to hunt.
The cottontail rabbit and male jack-rabbit are the animals that like to come into your yards and eat flowers and the fruits and vegetables out of a garden if you have one. They can be an easy target because when a rabbit sees you, its instinct is to stand still in hopes that you don't see them. When the animal stands still, you have a good chance of hitting your target. Spotlights have a similar effect on the animal, which makes rabbits an easy night hunt as well.
The squirrel is another animal that is considered an easy hunt because they live in trees. They are busy collecting nuts and other foods to store in their home throughout the day. They have also been known to be a pesky or problematic animal. These animals are fast, but if you were to sit and watch them go in and out and up and down the trees, an opportunity to shoot will eventually arise. Their business is the key to your success. By staying as far away from their tree as you possibly can, a gunshot can quickly take a squirrel down before it realizes what is going on in the world outside of its work.
