If you are a beginner at bow and arrow hunting there are several key issues you will have to deal with. First you must decide what type of system you will use: the traditional bow and arrow, the compound bow and arrow system, the re-curve system or the cross bow system.
The traditional system is a bigger challenge than the compound or crossbow because the traditional system isn’t as forgiving as the compound nor does it have the most accuracy or power. The traditional system has only a couple of fitting element to consider, that being the hunter’s height and if you want to use wood or fiberglass. With the compound system its draw weight, verses hunter strength, setting nocks, peep sight, sight pins and of course the arrows and type of release apparatus you want to use. All of these things are very important to a beginner even though a beginner can begin hunting without a lot of practice with the compound bow. Another consideration is the type of wildlife you want to hunt, if you want to hunt whitetail deer or wild boars for instance you will need a heavy broad head arrow and increase the pounds of thrust your bow will produce when released as apposed to smaller animals or birds such as turkeys.
As you progress with your use of the bow and arrow you will want to move on to better more professional equipment. When you decide to begin the sport of bow and arrow shooting always try to purchase your equipment from a reputable dealer that is highly trained and deals with quality equipment.
