Reasons For Hunting

Although we no longer need to hunt for food to survive anymore, there are many hungry people that still hunt to feed their families. Since the Stone Age, people have been hunting for many reasons. Food, hides, bones -- there were many obvious uses for all of these. Hides were used not only for clothing, but for linens and furnishings as well. Bones were used for many things, including jewelry, weapons, clothing fasteners, utensils, and medical equipment. Hunted food can be stored in many ways. For example, it can be cured and turned into jerky, frozen to be used later, and smoked. Venison or Deer meat can be prepared in all these ways, as well in more complex dishes. Deer meat has become more and more acceptable in dishes in the mainstream as well.

Although many think killing is unethical, others believe that if you use the whole animal, you are safe from this ethical issue. Even in this day and age, there are many hunters that hunt for food and use the whole animal as well. Many hunters who hunt deer and elk use the antlers, hide and meat of the animals. This allows them to cut down on many expenses; with many artisans using animal bones to craft their arts, many things can be made. These are just a few reasons that hunting for food is very popular. Just make sure that if you decide to start hunting for food that you have the ability to process the meat and store it.
