Bow and Arrow Season

One big difference between rifle and bow hunting is the range. A rifle shoots in excess of 200 yards, where as a bow shoots up to 45-50 yards, but really around 20-25 yards is a distance for a kill. It really depends on the hunter, the animal he or she is hunting, and the bow's capability. Animals have a tremendous sense of smell, hearing and sight, thus a bow hunter has to have a higher skill level because of the close range you have to be to the animal.

Deer hunting with a bow and arrow for West Alabama counties starts Oct. 15 and runs though Jan. 31. Spring turkey season starts March 16 and runs though April 30th. You can shoot one turkey a day and five per season. Rabbit season starts Oct. 1 and runs though Feb. 28th, and you can bag eight a day. For New Hampshire, one wild turkey of either sex may be taken by archery. Legal methods are archery only. Hunting hours are 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset.

In the state of Wisconsin, there are many trees and many deer. You can take advantage of the trees to hunt deer by making a tree house in one of them and hunting out of it. Archery hunting was legalized in Wisconsin in 1931, after many years where archery limited to field archery. Now, many people engage in the sport, in fact over 100,000 hunters each year.
