Hunting has been around for a long time but as we evolve it seems like there is more interest as to why people hunt. In the past the answer was easy. You hunted because you were hungry and it was the only way to put food on your table and feed your family. Now that it is a lot easier and probably less expensive to go to the local market, people are looking for a different answer.
Another reason might be that people hunt because their parents hunted and their parents hunted, so it is in their blood. Animal conservation is another reason that might be given. Hunting so certain species of animals don't get overpopulated is a good cause in some people's opinion. Getting out and enjoying nature is another reason. Who wouldn't want to get away from the rat race and enjoy the great outdoors? Some people see it as a sport or a challenge to outsmart an animal, track it down, shoot it, and bring it home for food. Or, maybe it is more important to bring the animal home and put its head on the wall of the living room or den. This allows the hunter to brag about the hunting experience to family, friends, and other envious hunters.
There are many reasons to try and explain why people hunt. Whether it is for sport, entertainment, or to provide meat for the family dinner, hunting is a popular pastime that many people enjoy throughout the year.
