When going hunting, many preparations have to be made. One cannot simply run out the front door and hope to return home several hours later with some game bagged, cleaned and ready to cook. Depending on what one is hunting, there are several different one-hundred percent necessary pieces of equipment needed. Also, one must consider the length of the hunt that they are embarking upon.
So, first and foremost, you will need a weapon for killing whatever you are hunting. Whether it be a bow, rifle, musket or shotgun, it is imperative that you have something with you to kill the animal that you are hunting. Second, you must have a hunting license and, depending what you are hunting, a tag for killing the animal. Now, the following are things that will be needed for different kinds of hunts. For bird hunting, it may be necessary to have calls for calling the birds in, a dog for retrieving the dead birds and maybe even decoys to lure birds into the hunting area. For deer or elk, it will be necessary to have calls, scent cover, maybe some decoys and definitely a good cleaning knife to clean the corpse of the animal after you kill it. Also, do no forget the obvious like food, water and ammo.
These things are just the basics of what is needed to go hunting, but they are necessities. Do not forget a weapon, ammo, water and food or else your hunt will not be very successful.
