Advice for the Beginning Hunter

The best thing a beginning hunter can do is find a friend that hunts and ask if you could tag along. Most experienced hunters will be more than happy to show you the ropes. They will even go with you and pick out all the gear that you will need. They just love to go in to sporting good stores and look and shop for the new gadgets.

The weapon would be a good starting point for equipment. No matter what else you have you cannot do much hunting without a weapon. The game you will be going to hunt will determine the weapon you will want to pick up. If you have the money to, go new for a gun. That would be the best, but you can find some great deals on used ones at most pawn shops. If you plan on going to a pawn shop take someone that knows guns and what to look for to keep you from getting a bad one and over paying for it.

Clothing would be the next thing to look for to get ready for the big hunt. Most experienced hunters may even have extra clothing just laying around you can use for the first time you go out. This way you can see if you are going to like the sport before you spend a lot of money.

The other good thing an experienced hunters can help you with is where to go hunting and what to do after you get what it is you are hunting for. Taken care of the game and getting it ready to take home may be something you have never done before and to have someone experienced along is a great help.
