Top Reasons To Hunt

Times have changed when it comes to the reasons many people go hunting. Many people have been asked why they hunt but most say they just love the thrill of being outdoors and the intensity of tracking the animal through the rough terrain of the forest.

Hunting started out as a way to provide food for your family and also provide clothing by using the skins of the animals that were killed. They also believed that certain parts of the animal could help cure sickness or could help prevent infections. The claws and bones of the animals were fashioned into jewelry and weapons.

As times changed so did the reasons to hunt certain animals. Some were hunted for ivory that could be sold to make money or were captured to become domesticated pets. Now many animals are hunted for sport and it is regulated by government officials to keep the amount hunters from killing to me of the animals in a given area. Many governments allow a period known simply as "the hunting season" where for a period of time, a hunter can hunt animals as often as they like. This can be extended due to overpopulation of some animals in a given area. Big game hunters travel the globe in search of the biggest game so they can make a trophy out of its head or body depending on the animal and its size.

The reason for hunting has almost completely changed for most hunters. With the advances we have to help us get closer to the animals we hunt, it has purely become more sport than a necessity. Still there are some people who hunt for the love of the outdoors and the excitement of tracking the animal in the forest, and hopefully this enjoyment will not change.
